Voxbone: Sales Soared 60% in 2009, Despite Recession

01/13/2010

IP network services provider Voxbone says its revenue soared 60 percent in 2009, in spite of the global economic recession.

However, the privately held, Belgium-based company didn’t disclose an overall earnings figure.

Voxbone sells local and toll-free numbers to entities including carriers, resellers, call centers and calling card providers. It said on Wednesday its minutes of use in 2009 for inbound traffic shot up 110 percent to 1.5 billion, driven by demand from mobile VoIP operators, enterprise users, conferencing companies and more.

Voxbone further said it’s added more than 150 new customers in the past year.

In 2010, the company plans to make SMS services available through iNum and boost interoperability with mobile operators.
