Perimeter Appoints Chief Strategy Officer, USA.NET President

Perimeter eSecurity said it has appointed Doug Howard chief strategy officer and president of USA.NET, Perimeter's wholly owned subsidiary and a provider of secure eMessaging services.

As dhief strategy officer, Howard will be responsible for Perimeter's product strategy including mergers and acquisitions.

"Doug's deep experience in enterprise IT security and secure messaging is a great complement to our team," said Brad Miller, CEO of Perimeter eSecurity. "I am particularly happy to have such a forward-thinking executive to guide the growth of our service portfolio and our USA.NET subsidiary."

Prior to joining Perimeter, Howard served as COO of BT Counterpane where he led a team responsible for the development, implementation, operations and marketing of BT Counterpane's product and service lines. Earlier he served as vice president of security and business continuity for AT&T Corp. Howard also founded Technology Research International, Inc. in 1989, which was purchased by NBC Broadcasting in 1991.

He is currently a member of IEEE, an association for the advancement of technology; the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA); and the Information Assurance Technical Framework (IATF) Forum.
