Deutsche Telekom Seeking Partner for T-Mobile?

Deutsche Telekom (DT) is said to be looking for a partner to help pump money into its T-Mobile subsidiary in the United States.

Reuters quoted two anonymous sources as saying Deutsche Telekom wants help investing money in T-Mobile and that potential partners could include rivals MetroPCS, Clearwire and AT&T. Even companies outside the telecom industry, such as general private investors, could be part of the roster, the two people said.

Deutsche Telekom’s COO wouldn’t comment on the speculation to Reuters, although he did reaffirm to the wire service in October that his company remained committed to the United States market.

T-Mobile is the fourth-largest wireless provider in the United States.
