Time Warner Cable to Debut Training Platform

Time Warner Cable Business Class plans to unveil a Web-based training platform for its partner Sept. 1, according to Brian Snortheim, director of marketing – alternate channels for the company, who spoke to PHONE+ at the Channel Partners Conference & Expo this week in Boston.

The platform will include product and sales training using video and text-based lessons agents can access online at their convenience. Quizzes track progress and agents cannot move forward in the training without passing the quiz. There are six modules in the program. Two modules cover provisioning, said Snortheim, noting that the processes for working with a cable company vary from working with a telco.

The online training is not required, but is a supplement to the mandatory certification program, which is taught live and in person. Because Time Warner Cable Business Class has a two-tier partner program, the certification training is required of its master agents. The online training is expected to be pushed out to these master agents’ subagents or employees who did not take the live training.

The cableco rolled out its agent program in March.
