nGenX Delivers MPLS

08/18/2008

nGenX (Booth 1055), a nationwide provider of on-demand software solutions, announces the introduction of its global MPLS network.

Over the last few years, MPLS has become the dominant technology for WAN connectivity. nGenX deployed this technology to augment its managed server product, Virtual Rackspace. MPLS can lower operational costs by integrating multiple services onto a common backbone; it facilitates the convergence of disparate frame relay, ATM, Ethernet and IP networks onto a single infrastructure to reduce capital and operating expenses. MPLS provides better performance as it utilizes Class of Service, Quality of Service and priority queuing of all traffic.

“We chose to deploy an MPLS network to allow our customers better access to the data we are storing for them in our data centers,” explained Robert A. Bye, executive vice president of nGenx. “This product also supports our channel partners as they can offer a complete managed server solution, one that includes both data storage and the customer transport.”

The nGenX offering provides a highly scalable, standards-compliant, secure MPLS solution that supports the convergence of voice, video and data traffic onto one network platform. Its MPLS VPN runs on a 100 percent native IP network, facilitating network management and maintenance and providing predictable performance.
