Accel Partners With Four Master Agents

05/09/2008

Accel Networks, which kicked off its agent program in February, has formed four new master agent partnerships.

Telarus Inc., Realcom Solutions, Vision Telecom and Advoda Communications will sell Accel’s wireless broadband services.

Accel hopes to sign a total of 25 master agencies to its program in 2008.

The company’s early adopter program will run through August. It pays 15 percent residuals, and is evergreen with no commitments and no tiers. Starting in August, though, Accel will implement a tiered structure that promises simple customer contracts and no minimum commitments.

“It’s exciting to build a channel program from the ground up using the agent’s business needs as a guidepost,” said Eric Sandoval, vice president of sales and marketing. “In turn, we have seen a strong response from the agents who work with us.”

Lance Akins, vice president of sales for Telarus, said that “having a product that can reach multilocation retail businesses who do not qualify for wired services – or who cannot afford T1 services – is huge.”
