Suddenlink Chooses VoiceLog for TPV, E911 Notification

VoiceLog LLC, a division of BSG Clearing Solutions and provider of third-party verification (TPV) services, announced it has signed an agreement with Suddenlink Communications, the eighth-largest U.S. operator of cable broadband systems, to provide TPV and E911 notification services. As a result of the agreement, Suddenlink will be able to ensure its broadband phone subscribers understand their E911 service and the safety rules that accompany all VoIP phones.

Under the agreement, VoiceLog immediately will begin supplying TPV and E911 notification services for Suddenlink’s new broadband phone subscribers in several West Texas and Missouri communities. VoiceLog will continue to support the company as it expands its voice services in Arkansas, California, Louisiana, Missouri, North Carolina and West Virginia.

“VoiceLog has a great track record and will be a critical part of our efforts in 2007 as Suddenlink begins rolling out its new voice services for residence and business customers across Suddenlink’s entire footprint,” said Tim Thompson, Suddenlink’s senior vice president of telephony operations. “That means VoiceLog will help us as we market phone service to more than 2 million households, including 1.4 million current video and broadband customers.”

Under guidelines that went into effect in 2006, the FCC requires all VoIP carriers who connect with the public telephone network to notify their customers of any limitations to their E911 service, including where and under what conditions it may not be available. VoIP carriers also must obtain “affirmative acknowledgement” from every customer that they have received and understood that information.

VoiceLog stores the information for three years and provides its clients with daily reports showing end-user acknowledgement.
