Level 3 Completes Acquisition of SAVVIS Unit

Level 3 Communications Inc. has completed its $132.5 million acquisition of the content delivery network (CDN) services business of SAVVIS, Inc.

Level 3 acquired network elements, customer contracts and intellectual property used in SAVVIS's CDN business. The deal was announced late last month.

SAVVIS’s CDN services business is based in Thousand Oaks, Calif., and has approximately 50 employees and more than 100 customers, including Microsoft Corp. It has infrastructure in more than 20 countries.
