Covad, TalkSwitch Launch Self-Installable Platform

Covad Communications Group Inc. and TalkSwitch have launched a self-installable voice and broadband communications platform designed specifically for small businesses.

It combines Covad's ClearEdge Integrated Access, a high-speed voice and data line, with the TalkSwitch 480vs, a self-installable telephone system.

The platform is designed to grow with the business and can scale from eight to 32 phone users at a single location. This lets businesses purchase only the equipment and service they need, the companies said.

Service starts as low as $459 per month for a 25-person office, and the platform typically requires 30 days from the time a customer orders to activation, the companies said.

The Covad-TalkSwitch product is available immediately and can be purchased through TalkSwitch channel partners.
