Level 3 Expands Wholesale VoIP Services

Level 3 Communications Inc. now offers an expanded portfolio of wholesale voice services, thanks to its WilTel acquisition, the company said today at VON.

The addition of WilTel's Feature Group D traditional voice network gives customers access to nationwide toll-free services, end-to-end switched services and expanded international termination capabilities, Level 3 said. The expansion also provides components and services to help providers in the TDM environment to migrate to an IP platform.

"In addition to expanding our worldwide footprint, Level 3 can now offer customers a deeper portfolio with expanded IP capabilities and the ability to seamlessly and cost-effectively migrate from circuit-based to IP technologies," said Sureel Choksi, executive vice president of voice services for Level 3.
