Access One Bolsters Executive Team

Service provider Access One Inc. has hired two new executives.

Jonathan “Mitch” Mitchell will serve as vice president of operations, responsible for the network and operations departments. He will provide technical and service direction for Access One and manage its network.

Prior to joining the company, Mitchell worked for corporations including MCI Inc., MFS Communications, Worldcom, Telcordia and, most recently, Level 3 Communications. Mitchell says he is looking forward to leading Access One through its transition from a switchless reseller to a facilities-based provider.

AccessOne also has appointed William J. Major III as its director of network. The newly created position tasks Major with overseeing the deployment, operation and maintenance of Access One’s future softswitch.

Major recently served as a senior director of global voice and softswitch operations at Level 3 Communications. He began his career at Level 3 in 1999 as a voice architecture systems engineer. He previously was an officer in the Army.
