Vapps, Windows Live Messenger Align for Free Conference Calling

01/25/2007

Vapps has made an alliance with Windows Live Messenger to offer free VoIP conference calling to Windows Live Messenger’s 255 million users.

The deal was announced on Thursday at the Internet Telephony Conference & Expo in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Windows Live Messenger, a paid service, is the next version of MSN Messenger and considered one of the largest consumer instant messaging services.

Users who opt for the conference calling plug-in will get a conference bridge number and participant codes for use by up to 500 participants simultaneously. Other features will be available, including standard call management (volume control, muting, participant announcing, conference locking and recording) and moderator features for Web-based on-demand call control.

Windows Live Messenger is free to download; it supports 26 languages and in more than 60 countries.

Vapps sells through channel partners.
