Allworx Announces 9200 IP Phone Series

01/23/2008

Allworx has unveiled the new Allworx 9200 phone series, which consists of the 9212 and the 9202 SIP phones, and is targeted at SMBs.

The flagship Allworx 9212 SIP phone is designed for executives who receive a high volume of calls. It includes a built-in RJ-11 headset port, a hi-fidelity speakerphone, a significantly wider display screen, and four dynamic soft keys that guide users through all of the features and functions. The Allworx 9202 SIP phone offers the same hi-fidelity handset and VoIP capabilities, but comes in a compact design and a price point targeted towards users with a smaller volume of calls.

Both phones complement each other in a way that helps resellers meet the communications needs of their SMB customers, the company said.

Calling such as checking messages, conferencing functions, and moving calls via hold, redial and transfer are now accessible via one-touch programming keys. Presence management also is available via one-touch day and night modes, and every Allworx phone supports the Allworx “follow-me-anywhere” call routing procedures, allowing users to send calls to multiple extensions, including mobile phones.

Each plug-and-play phone supports up to 12 call appearances, with distinctive ringtones to distinguish different types of calls. Multiple voice mail indicators are included, and new static and interference-eliminating capabilities improve voice quality.

“With the 9200 series, we’re delivering functionality that enables our phones to behave like a key system, or PBX system, or a mix of the two,” said George Daddis, CEO for Allworx. “Whether the calls come through CO lines, T1/PRI or the Internet, we’re able to emulate key system line appearances, and provide the type of call management functionality that helps businesses increase their productivity. The combination of the new 9200 series phones and the existing 9112 and 9102 models provides our customers with a number of choices to address their specific communications needs.”
