Airband Reports Rapid Results From National Indirect Channel Program

01/22/2008

Fixed WiMAX provider Airband Communications Inc. said this week that it has added 30 partners to its channel program in the two months since it launched the initiative in October.

Airband’s National Indirect Channel Program participants include Infobahn, Spiritel and Allyance Communications.

“We couldn’t be more pleased with the initial success of our channel program,” said Zane Long, vice president of indirect channel sales for Airband. “As more businesses continue to realize the advantages of Airband’s fixed-WiMAX technology, we are confident that our sales channel will continue to expand and contribute to Airband’s overall growth and market share.”

Since the launch of Airband’s Indirect Channel Program, several agents are already driving substantial business the company said, including Debbie Clavadetscher of Spiritel, who recently sold two high-bandwidth connections to a health care information systems company.

“Airband’s program is incredibly efficient and they have been so supportive in helping agents achieve our sales goals,” said Clavadetscher. “My customer base has been extremely receptive to Airband’s sophisticated WiMAX offering for high-bandwidth last-mile access, WAN extension and redundancy strategy. I look forward to continued sales growth.”

To streamline the channel partner on-boarding process, Airband conducts twice monthly training Webinars. Past Webinar topics have highlighted WiMAX technology, product benefits and sales processes. To date, more than 75 agents have been trained through Airband’s Webinar events.

In December, Airband hosted the first semiannual agent summit at its Dallas headquarters. Activities included presentations and roundtable discussions with Airband’s executive team on the company’s overall business strategy, major network build-out initiatives and sales/marketing support programs.

“The agent summit was another success that we have achieved early on with our indirect channel program,” said Long. “Based on initial feedback, agents were very appreciative of the interaction with our senior management. The input we gather from our agents during these summits helps us to continually refine the program to better meet agents’ needs.”

Airband also has appointed new regional channel managers to facilitate and engage partners. Regional channel managers each have more than a decade of telecommunications experience, and are strategically located throughout the country, including the East Coast, West Coast, Midwest and Southwest.

Airband offers a comprehensive portfolio of high-speed data, VPN and other managed solutions through its indirect channel partners. The company owns and operates a fixed-wireless network based on WiMAX technology, and focuses solely on businesses. Airband has more than 3,500 customers nationwide.
